Pack 1429 is active Cub Scout Pack located in Alpharetta, GA, for both Boys and Girls from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. While most of our youth attend Alpharetta, Manning Oaks Elementary Schools, Amana Academy, we do have Scouts from area Elementary and elsewhere.

We are very proud of our advancement program, where dedicated adults work with scouts at all ages of advancement to help keep them on track to meet their goals.

We are open to all genders, faiths and backgrounds.

What makes our Pack different?

Features of our Pack:

  •   3 major Camp Out's  every year
  •   Rocket Day in November
  •   Pinewood Derby

Rocket Launch Nov 15th

Posted on Oct 8 2025 - 11:19am

Hi Pack!

It's almost time for rockets, one of my favorite events of the year! Here is some important preliminary information.
  • Save the Date: November 15th, 8:00 am arrival, end by about 11:00 am
  • Location: Innovation Academy Fields
  • Volunteers Needed! Please sign up here. If you remember last year's event, it's busy work to get each rocket ready 2 times.
    • We only need 1 parent to help with the engine distribution. This requires no experience, but I do ask that this volunteer arrive a minute early. You'll have a list of participating scouts and which engine they need. Simply make sure they get the right engine and no more than 2 each.
    • We need 3 parents to help scouts prepare their rockets for launch. This involves inserting the engine, wadding and parachute correctly. It's super easy and we will provide plenty of training.
    • We need 1 experienced parent to help at the launch pad. Here, the volunteer will do a final inspection to ensure the rocket is ready for launch, will assist the scouts in mounting their rocket to the pad and help the scout click the launch button.
  • Rockets are provided by the pack and distributed to each den leader soon. Scouts will have time to assemble the rockets at den and pack meetings.
Please be on the lookout for more information to come! Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Thanks,

Troop 51 Flag Retirement Ceremony: Nov 2

Posted on Oct 8 2025 - 11:18am
Pack 1429,

Troop 51 has invited Pack 1429 and the surrounding area Cub Scout Packs to their flag retirement ceremony on Sunday, November 2, from 4:00 PM  to 5:30 PM in the back of the American Legion Post 201, located at 201 Wills Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30009. This is a fantastic event to honor our veterans and first responders. Troop 51 expects to retire over 1,000 flags. We encourage scouts, families, and friends to all attend and participate in this event. You do not need to attend the entire ceremony; you can come and go as your schedule allows.

APC Fall Property Work: Oct 25

Posted on Oct 7 2025 - 2:06pm

APC Service Project: Grounds Improvement Day.

Please tell the Scouts at APC that our property workday in the spring is set for Saturday, October 25th from 8Am to 12PM. If Scouts can come (parents welcome too!) to help spread pine straw and mulch, it’s a big help.  Come for 1-3 hours if they can.

Northern Ridge Fall Baloo Training 2025

Posted on Aug 4 2025 - 11:30pm

Parents,

Our district (Northern Ridge) is putting on Baloo - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

It will be an overnight campout at St Thomas Aquinas on Sept 20-21 from 7AM Saturday to 12PM Sunday
https://www.northernridgebsa.org/baloo

Our leaders in the past have taken this training and it is extremely valuable to learn the cub lingo, basic cooking, and camping skills/gear selection.
